Locating your Credit Card Verification Code
The Credit Card Verification Code (CVV2 or CID) is an extra three- or four-digit number printed on your credit card. As the number is not embossed (raised) and is not encoded on the card's magnetic strip, it is not saved when a merchant makes an imprint of your card or swipes it through a reader.

If you have a Visa or Mastercard, then the CVV2 is printed on the back of card, right after the card number.

If you have an American Express card, then the CID is printed on the front of the card, above the card number.

If you have a Discover card, then the CID is printed on on the back of the card, right after the card number, in the same manner as on a Visa or MasterCard.
